    Position Summary: The Database Administration Manager will lead an existing team of experienced DBA’s who are responsible for the implementation and support of numerous database products, primarily on MS SQL Server platform.  He/She will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for the DBA team supporting client/customers.  As a member of the Technology Operations team, you will work as a focal point to facilitate database related issues to resolution, ensure your team meets their goals and service levels, and act as a catalyst of change to improve processes.

    Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Leads DBA team to provide database solutions to solve complex business issues including data processing, loading, performance improvements, data storage, and data replication.
    • Manages all facets of DBA service delivery while developing Key Performance Metrics aligned to the end user experience.
    • Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain corporate databases and processing demands.
    • Interact with a diverse group of technical, operational, and business teams across ReedGroup
    • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the DBA team.
    • Manages and supports deployment of code to all environments on a weekly basis and any major releases.
    • Manages backup and recovery procedures ensuring the storage and safety of all data; follows disaster recovery plan with off-site security measures.

    Qualifications

    Technical Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of equivalent years of experience
    • 3+ years of experience in leadership roles
    • Experienced in large database implementation and support
    • Experience performing 24x7 support for SQL Server environments
    • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging technologies, trends, & platforms
    • Strong ability to communicate technical information and details to a non-technical audience
    • Familiarity with both on premise and cloud-based service offerings.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with AWS Database Management
    • Time management skills, independent decision-making capability, focus on customer service
    • Project management and documentation experience preferred
    • Familiarity with IT frameworks such as ITIL
