    PURPOSE: The Software Quality Assurance Engineer ensures the integrity of all Reed Group software products by rigorously testing ReedGroup software through automation and manual tests, documenting test results, debugging programs, and approving releases of ReedGroup products.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Write, record and execute effective test scripts and suites to test complex, large-scale, distributed systems
    • Collaborate with developers to define and develop reusable test frameworks
    • Design and assist with implementation of automated test best practices
    • Work with the QA Manager and colleagues to define process and strategy associated with automation.
    • Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope/delivery dates
    • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
    • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
    • Open to off hours and weekends on a regular basis.

     

    OTHER DUTIES:

    • Attend department and company meetings.
    • Stay current on technology trends and industry information.
    • Works under general supervision.
    • Other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience required
    • Minimum of 2 years’ Software Engineering Development experience with a focus on Quality Assurance testing and Automation Testing.
    • Knowledge of software quality methodologies and processes.
    • Experience working in with Agile development methodologies.
    • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a wide audience.
