    PURPOSE: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for compiling payroll data, entering data and reconciling errors, and processing bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls each month.

    • Perform daily payroll department operations for successful, accurate and timely bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls
    • Supports the Payroll Manager in daily payroll operations
    • Maintain general payroll inquiry email box, and act as first line of contact for payroll inquiries
    • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
    • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
    • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
    • Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
    • Perform compliance for unclaimed property payroll checks
    • Inform Payroll Manager of payroll issues and discrepancies
    • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting as necessary (W2s, W2Cs, etc.)
    • Process manual and off-cycle checks as needed


    • Assists with special projects for the payroll and finance teams
    • Provides backup support to other HR functions
    • Attends regular department meetings and company meetings
    • Other duties as assigned



    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience processing multi-state payrolls with a high level of accuracy and attention to details
    • Knowledge of multi-state payroll and taxation, federal and state regulations and wage withholding orders and garnishments
    • Intermediate computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and HR/Payroll  systems
    • Must possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and able to work independently to achieve deadlines
    • High degree of professionalism with excellent internal and external customer service skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information, exhibiting a high sense of ethics and integrity
    • Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change and deliver under the pressure of multiple deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communications
    • Decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
