Who We Are: Reed Group is a dynamic, fast growing organization that works in a niche industry most commonly known as Third Party Administration. We are known for being a leader in managing absences for major companies including Fortune 100 companies. More specifically, instead of employers managing the process when an employee needs to go out on leave for FMLA (the family medical leave act) or for Short Term or Long Term Disability, we handle it for them. As a result we have a large customer operations team of talented individuals who manage our client’s employee cases.

We build the software (we have a large group of developers) to manage the entire work flow which is why you could easily think of us as a technology company. We also have a content business called MDGuidelines that contains treatment recommendations for best managing an employee back to work.

Right now we are over 1,900 employees (and growing daily).

Responsibilities

Purpose:  The Desktop Engineer is responsible for the planning, development, and management of our desktop architecture, systems, processes, and support.

 

Who we’re looking for:

You are experienced in all things desktop related, including imaging and managing imaging platforms. You plan and think about the big picture when it comes to delivering a solution. You are customer focused, and think about what a product looks like from your customer’s perspective.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a globally deployed, supported and flexible desktop infrastructure including laptops, VDI, terminal servers, etc
  • Plan, implement, and manage remote software distribution processes
  • Design and support imaging system and processes
  • Perform lifecycle management for core desktop services and applications
  • Manage assets using Enterprise asset management software
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of desktop infrastructure, processes and procedures
  • Work with business units to review and analyze current solutions
  • Research, design, and plan for changes and improvements to desktop delivery model and offerings
  • Interface with support teams to resolve systemic issues and coordinate problem management processes

Qualifications

Technical Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of Windows OS, MacOS, iOS, MS Office, Provisioning, and support of business operations
  • Expert knowledge of hardware (including thin clients, laptops, thin clients, and mobile devices)
  • Working knowledge of Vmware Horizon VDI technology
  • Working knowledge of WDS/MDT imaging systems
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 (Exchange, Sharepoint, One Drive, etc)
  • Experienced in asset management and desktop lifecycle management

  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Good design, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities and the ability to understand the user experience.
  • Detail oriented; ability to organize and coordinate among different teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • ITIL certified
  • Microsoft MCP, MCITP
  • Vmware Horizon VDI
  • Landesk
  • Enterprise Antivirus platforms
