Who We Are: Reed Group is a dynamic, fast growing organization that works in a niche industry most commonly known as Third Party Administration. We are known for being a leader in managing absences for major companies including Fortune 100 companies. More specifically, instead of employers managing the process when an employee needs to go out on leave for FMLA (the family medical leave act) or for Short Term or Long Term Disability, we handle it for them. As a result we have a large customer operations team of talented individuals who manage our client’s employee cases.

We build the software (we have a large group of developers) to manage the entire work flow which is why you could easily think of us as a technology company. We also have a content business called MDGuidelines that contains treatment recommendations for best managing an employee back to work.

Right now we are over 1,900 employees (and growing daily).

Responsibilities

As part of a cross-functional team of administrators and engineers, the Sr. Systems Administrator is responsible effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, maintenance, security, and support of Reed Group’s server, storage, and enterprise application infrastructure.

 

This position will report directly to the Manager, IT Infrastructure and will display broad expertise in common enterprise platforms and business information systems.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Stays abreast of current technologies and trends; identifies opportunities where technology can enhance the user experience or solve business problems and recommends appropriate technology solutions.
  • Leads and drives standard operating procedures for production servers, storage devices, and enterprise applications; maintains the official “run book” of configuration standards, operating procedures, routine maintenance activities, and default system configurations.
  • Provisions new systems and enhancements to existing systems; installs new infrastructure including hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with defined standards and requirements.
  • Reports on inventory, availability, configurations, capacity / utilization, and security of production servers and storage platforms.
  • Provides technical support for issues and outages where advanced technical expertise is required; provides Root Cause Analysis and thoughtful remediation advice for incidents that result in severe service disruptions.
  • Advocates for best practices.

Qualifications

General Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience administering enterprise infrastructure and applications
  • MCSE, MCITP, VCP, or similar professional IT certifications strongly preferred.
  • Ability to think creatively, innovate and be solutions-oriented.
  • Naturally takes ownership of complex technical projects and drives them to completion with high-quality outcomes.
  • Ability to communicate well across all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
  • Passionate about IT with a clear focus on improving the business and the end-user experience.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Strong scripting skills preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Demonstrated experience administering VMware vSphere.
  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco UCS
  • Demonstrated experience administering Office 365 Exchange, Sharepoint, One-Drive
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise storage, NetApp preferred
  • Experience with Veeam Backup and Restore
  • Experience with Landesk (Ivanti) asset management
  • Experience with common system management utilities such as WSUS, SCCM, system backup utilities, anti-malware / endpoint security suites, availability and performance monitoring tools. etc.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and concepts.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise IT technologies, processes, and practices.
  • Familiarity with information security protocols and auditing engagements (SSAE-16, HIPAA, PCI).
